Compress images and convert between PNG, JPG and WEBP
Phone photos weigh several megabytes, and many forms and email providers have size limits. With these two tools you shrink your images or change their format — nothing to install and nothing uploaded.
Compress images Convert format
Compress images
- In Pro Arsenal, choose Compress Img.
- Drag in one or more images (JPG, PNG, WEBP… any format your browser can display).
- Press Reduce Weight. A single image downloads as
Compressed.jpg; several come inCompressed.zip, each prefixed withC_.
What it actually does
Each image is re-saved as a JPEG at 50% quality with the same pixel dimensions. For photos, this usually cuts the size several times over with no visible difference on screen. If the image had transparency (a PNG logo, say), the transparent background is filled with white, because JPEG doesn't support transparency.
When not to use it: on screenshots full of text, diagrams or logos, JPEG can blur the edges. For those, convert them to WEBP with the format tool instead.
Convert between PNG, JPG and WEBP
- In Pro Arsenal, choose Img Formats.
- Pick the target format in the drop-down: PNG, JPG or WEBP.
- Add your images and press Convert. One image downloads directly; several come in
Converted_Images.zip.
Which format should you choose?
| Format | Best for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| JPG | Photos, maximum compatibility | No transparency (filled with white). Lossy compression. |
| PNG | Logos, screenshots, images with transparency | Lossless, but heavy files for photos. |
| WEBP | Websites and lightweight sharing | Supports transparency and is usually smaller than JPG and PNG. Some older apps can't open it. |
Limitations
- Images aren't resized: they keep their width and height. If you need fewer pixels, shrink the photo first with your system's photo editor.
- EXIF metadata such as GPS location or camera model is not copied to the result — a plus if you're going to share it.
- Some special formats can't be opened, such as HEIC from iPhones in browsers that don't support it, or RAW files. If your browser can't display the image, the tool can't convert it either.
Privacy
The conversion uses your browser's canvas: the image is drawn and re-encoded on your own device. Your photos are never uploaded to a server.
